Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), won’t contest the 2023 governorship election in Kebbi State, his spokesman, Umar Gwandu, has said.

Gwandu made this known in a chat with our correspondent on Tuesday amid reports (not by The PUNCH) that the minister would be running to succeed incumbent Kebbi governor, Abubakar Bagudu, in May 2023.

Malami, who is from Kebbi State, is a two-term top-ranking member of the cabinet of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.
