Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr Ibijoke, Sanwo-Olu, as well as the Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare; and, the Managing Director, First Bank of Nigeria, Dr Sola Adeduntan, are some of the dignitaries billed to speak at the 11th Young Achievers Nigeria Awards.
The event, which is slated for May 29, would be held at the Ibis Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos and would kick off at 4pm.
The convener of the award, Mr. Adeduntan Yinka, in a statement on Thursday said, “Despite the challenges our continent and Nigeria in particular has been facing, some uncommon youths have written the name of our country on the global map because they exhibit qualities that people look for in an achiever which include honesty, competence, progress, intelligence and inspiration.”
Some of the nominees for this year’s award include Zubaida Saeed, a medical student who graduated with 11 honourary academic awards from Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto; 25-year-old Mohammed Sulaiman, the youngest Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Leader; the best graduating student from the University of Lagos in the 2021 convocation, 21-year-old Ekeoseye Osereme; Dr. Hallowed Olaoluwa, a 29-year-old lecturer with a PhD as well as a 25-year-old certified agronomist, Halima Zawiya, amongst others.
