Foundation trains 1,000 students in web design, others

ABOUT 1,000 students drawn from four polytechnics in Osun State have been trained in various technology innovations at an event tagged, ‘Campus Tech Fest.’

The event held in Igbajo Polytechnic, which was sponsored by Tioluwalogo Foundation had participants from the host institution, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Iresi Polytechnic, and Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.

A statement titled, ‘1,000 students trained as Youth and Community Development Advocates,’ signed by the Chairman of the foundation, Tioluwalogo Olakunbi-Black, in Osogbo on Monday, said the two-day event featured tech discussions from industry experts and training on digital skills, among others.

It further read in parts, “From website development, graphics design to content creation and editing, the students were exposed to the possibilities and opportunities in the tech industry.

“The two-day event program also featured tech discussions from industry experts was kick-started with a training on digital skills.”

The event organiser, Tioluwalogo, in his remarks, harped on the importance of having digital skills in a rapidly changing world, adding that the journey to a new world of work would require re-evaluation and re-skilling.
