Four people have reportedly lost their lives in a renewed cult war in the polytechnic community of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

The war, said to be between the Aye and Vikings confraternities, started five days ago.

One of the victims, Eze Uwaechie, was reportedly killed on Wednesday.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Uwaechie was shot dead around 10am at a joint close to his home in the Umuneze area of the community.

It was learnt that three other persons were killed between Saturday and Monday.

A community source told our correspondent that the first victim, suspected to be an Internet fraudster, had an issue with some boys.

“After they made some money, sharing formula caused a problem and the guy was killed last week Saturday. The deceased’s friends then killed two members of the Aye group.

“That was how the killing started. From Saturday till now, five persons have been killed,” the source said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, stated that he was waiting for a comprehensive report on the incident from the Ogwashi-Uku Divisional Police Officer.
